- To prepare your foam, cut it to the desired shape. Then, place the foam in a container of water and allow it to soak naturally. Don't force the foam underwater, as this can create air pockets that hinder water absorption. The foam will float initially, then gradually sink and turn dark green when fully saturated. Once the foam is ready, insert your flower stems firmly to a depth of about an inch. Avoid repeatedly removing and reinserting stems, as this can disrupt the foam's structure and reduce its effectiveness.
- Cut, Soak, and Create. Cut the foam to desired shape or just use the full size brick. Soak the foam in water for a few minutes. Create your arrangement. To soak the floral foam, place it in a container of water and let it soak on its own. Don't push the foam into the water, as this can create air pockets that prevent the foam from soaking properly. The foam will float at first, then sink and turn from light dark green to dark green when it's ready to use. Insert them firmly into the foam, about an inch deep. Avoid removing and reinserting blooms into the same place, as this can create air pockets in the foam.
